Natural Health

I am amazed that more people don’t connect their face to their food. They wake up and see a little more puffiness around their eyes, their nose might look larger than yesterday with a bit less definition in their cheekbones, and they don’t ask themselves:

‘Did those sun dried tomatoes and provolone on my salad last night do this?’ or ‘What about that micro-waved pre-packaged pasta I had for lunch?’ ‘Did I drink enough water yesterday?’ (FYI – the more water you drink, the less water you retain) or ‘did that diet soda and anchovy pizza go to my face?’

They just unhappily accept these changes as part of the aging process and something they can’t control. They might consider a few nips and tucks for the future, but other than that they feel as if there is nothing they can do. Well there is something that can be done and it is as simple as paying attention to what goes in and out of your belly.

For example, convenience and processed foods, and foods with preservatives, often make the body work harder at digestion, assimilation, and elimination. Consequently, that difficulty shows up in the body and on the skin. Processed foods are often pre-packaged in boxes, cans, and even frozen. Here are a few criticisms about these foods:

–Typically they are manufactured from almost inedible agricultural products
–They are high in fat and calorie contents
–They are the real culprits behind obesity
–They are often Genetically Modified (GMO)
–Sometimes an irradiation process is used
–Preservatives are almost always used

The reason these types of foods can affect your face is because more often than not your body identifies these types of foods as a foreign invader, or allergen (to which the body reacts allergically). Then, the body’s immune system is activated to fight this invader or allergen. One of the actions of the immune system is inflammation and therefore puffiness can occur.

If there is a sluggish elimination system and the body can’t get rid of this foreign stuff easily, then more puffiness can occur! I want to point out here that although I’m writing specifically about how these foods affect our looks, I don’t want to minimize their negative effects on the entire body (that’s for another article). But what I will say here is that this inflammation happens throughout the body affecting joints too (arthritis is related to many foods that are eaten and the condition of the digestive system).

The organs that are involved in elimination are the skin (yes, that’s an organ – its the largest organ in the body), lungs, kidneys, liver, colon, and the lymphatic system. When the colon is sluggish the other organs of elimination can be affected resulting in things like skin rashes, coughs, and constipation. The lymphatic system is a circulatory system whose primary function is to help cleanse the body of toxins. There are vessels and glands that run throughout the body – including the face and the colon.

When the colon is sluggish, the lymph can get sluggish, and consequently this can show up in your face. The areas around the eyes and the face have many lymph vessels. Therefore, proper elimination is very important in minimizing facial puffiness!

As a colon therapist, I know of several ways to help a sluggish colon. There are mechanical ways (colonics, enemas, colema boards) and there are nutritional ways. Both approaches can be effective. I just learned about a new product that Young Living has developed and I am very excited about it. It is a cleansing product and a nutritional superfood energizer that tastes delicious. It is called ‘Balance Complete’.

Balance Complete has balanced fiber that is really important in a cleansing product. Balanced fiber includes both soluble and insoluble fiber and accomplishes two things:

–Absorbs toxins
–Cleanses and scrubs the colon walls as it moves through the intestines

Along with balanced fiber this product has essential glyco-nutrients, essential fats, key antioxidants, protein from very clean whey out of New Zealand, digestive enzymes, and lots more!
Here are the some of the actions of this product:

–Toxin and fat elimination
–Enhances nutrient absorption
–Supports cholesterol levels
–Maintains normal blood sugar
–Nurtures probiotics and colon health
–Eases gas and bloating
–Curbs food craving

It’s a great meal replacement for people who are looking to take off pounds, nourish themselves, and cleanse at the same time. And of course, it has the highest-grade essential oils in it. Essential oils help to drive nutrients into the cells as well as balance the digestive system.
Mix 2 scoops in 8 ounces of water. It’s delicious.

Health Beauty Products

When one is faced with economic hardships, the first thing to go is often attention to health and beauty. If you have been in a money crisis, then you full understand what we are speaking about. Many women give up haircuts and manicures, never mind facials and other so-called luxuries, in an attempt to save money.

With the booming cosmetic industry, companies are focusing more and more on finding ways to attract customers and also be better than the other companies working in the same field. Each company is striving to be called as the top company with most effective beauty products.

They are trying to get more and more customers by using convincing tactics like expensive advertisements on print and multimedia, free gifts and wonderful packaging of beauty products.

Name any type of beauty product and you will find every company offering one with a different touch.

The advertisements of beauty products are done in such a way that they look promising to the people who want to enhance their beauty. Unfortunately, many end up having sore and damaged skin after using beauty products.

Seldom advertisements warn people to consult their dermatologists before using these products and hence the result is unfortunate. People keep on using these products without ever taking a look at the elements of which the product is composed of.

A few who do, do not really understand what they mean in common language and what their ill-effects are. More so, many people end up over using the products and over use of anything is bad.

It is important to consult your doctor before using any of these products because the doctor will exactly tell you what the product consists of and how good or bad it is for your skin.

Doctors can explain what ingredients can be harmful to your health. Toxins wherever used, without doubt, are very harmful.

Same is the case with steroids and parabens which various studies show can lead to skin cancer. Although the case of parabens is disputed but there are various elements whose ill-effects the dermatologists know nothing of yet. Even then it is important to do a complete research on what these products are composed of.

The Best Health & Beauty Tips

New products are cropping up every month and they are better than ever. There are also many things you can do to retain that youthful glow. Here you will find the best health & beauty tips for anti-aging. Not only will you become more familiar with the best products, but you will learn the lifestyle tips that will keep you looking young well after most of your peers have succumbed to the effects of Father Time.

You Are What You Eat

The food that goes into your body provides the building blocks for life. Your body is uniquely designed to heal itself. However, if you deprive it of essential nutrients and antioxidants, the system breaks down and disease is the result. There’s just no substitute for a good diet. Focus on quality low fat proteins, whole grains, dairy, fruits and vegetables and healthy fats. Foods that are particularly known for anti-aging properties include blueberries, fish, yogurt, red wine. dark chocolate and nuts. A balanced diet is absolutely necessary for glowing skin and long life. This is probably the most important of the health & beauty tips for anti-aging. Also, make sure that you are drinking enough water. Skin and tissues that are hydrated function better and regenerate more easily.

Get Rid of Bad Habits

If have ever spent any time around a smoker, you’ve likely seen the devastating effects that this bad habit can have on health and appearance. People who smoke or drink excessively suffer from wrinkles at a much higher rate than an average population of non smokers. In addition to succumbing to serious diseases like cancer, they also have more colds and allergies. None of these things are particularly attractive to look at. If you smoke, quit. Lack of exercise can also be a bad habit that ages you faster than necessary. Get that body moving if you want to stay young!

Don’t Overspend on Skin Care

When it comes to wrinkle reducing creams, the offerings are better than ever. The medical advances have started to trickle down to over the counter products, making them more available to you. Things like antioxidants, vitamins and CoQ10 are infused in facial creams that promise miracles. The problem with this is that every product claims to be better than the competitors. How do you know what to really use? Are expensive creams worth it? In a recent consumer reports study, testers actually reported the best results from readily available drug store creams. These outperformed many designer creams that were more than triple the price. Also, no matter what the cream claims, there is no miracle facial product. You can get results, but no bottle can make up for bad lifestyle choices.

Attitude Counts

Surprisingly, this health and beauty tip for anti-aging is one of the most important. Your attitude determines a lot of things when it comes to your body and its ability to function well. Studies have shown that excessive stress leads to disease and immune suppression. People with good attitudes have better health and look younger. Everyone has trials in their life, but those who can find the silver lining have a much higher chance of looking youthful as they age.

Health & Beauty Properties

Drink eight glasses of water per day! How many times have you heard this statement? Is there any truth to assumption that water can cure all kinds of diseases? Can water actually make your skin healthier and stronger? Water cures may seem like a mystery, but in this case the facts really speak for themselves.

Water has various health and beauty properties that can’t be ignored. Our bodies need water in order to survive. In fact, without water we would all be shriveled up and dehydrated. The scary part of this equation is that most people never even drink one glass of water per day.

Rather than filling our bodies with water, we tend to consume large amounts of alcohol and caffeine. Alcohol and caffeine can be fun to drink, but they also dehydrate the body causing our skin to dry out. If you want to maintain a healthy, anti-aging, glow throughout the years, water is the way to go.

Did you know that our bodies consist of 70 percent water? Numerous parts of the body including blood, muscles, lungs, and brain all need water to survive.┬áSince we lose water throughout the day, it is important to recognize the signs of dehydration… do you know when you are dehydrated?

If you have chronic pain in your joints and muscles; constant headaches; constipation; and lower back pain you might be suffering from mild dehydration. Dehydrating can also speed up the aging process, but by drinking water you can promote anti-aging. Even if you don’t feel thirsty, your body still needs water. In fact, your body needs water long before that thirst ever hits you.

So, how much water should you drink? While every health and beauty expert out there seems to have a different number of glasses in mind, the best way to figure out your daily water intake is through math. Dividing your body weight in half will give you the number of ounces of water per day that you should be drinking.

If you happen to be an active person, it is wise to add another eight ounce glass of water per twenty minutes of exercise to your daily water intake. Additionally, if you have an alcoholic drink you should match each drink with one glass of water.

It’s hard to get enough water every day. Most of us lead busy lives that don’t include stopping to take care of our bodies throughout the day. However, if you get into the habit of drinking water every day, you will see that your skin begins to glow from the inside out as natural anti-aging devices begin to work within you.

Our bodies need water to survive, so make sure to give your body plenty of water. Drinking water for health and beauty reasons may seem simple, but it is also the best way to arm your body with numerous anti-aging benefits.
